Ira Joins Faculty of MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning
/MIT Lobby 7, Gateway to MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning
This fall I accepted an offer to join the faculty of MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning to help build a new degree for Urban Science with Computation (more concisely —and affectionately— referred to as “11-6” in MIT’s numerical lingo). I'm particularly excited to devote more time to teaching within a program whose existence, in many ways, validates the past 7 years of a somewhat lonely and ad-hoc research career at the Media Lab where I built computational tools for participatory planning. I'm also extremely elated and comforted by the DUSP community's warmth and openness. This place already feels like home!
